Another retro hit from Nike, this time with the return of an ’89 PSG kit.
PSG celebrates their 30th anniversary with Nike with this retro number that is pulled straight from 1989. The big Swoosh has taken the exact design from the past but have sprinkled a small serving of modern touch. It’s a white jersey topped by a fold over button-down collar and decorated by a vivid red and blue vertical stripe that runs the length of the shirt.
Notably, like its ’89-90 predecessor, the shirt features the Nike Futura logo and a jacquard pattern rising from the fabric. For 2019-20, this takes the form of diagonal stripes with the word “Paris” subtly incorporated into the design.
There are small details which add a slice of class to the PSG kit. The buttons carry a pearlescent sheen with the inscriptions “Paris Saint-Germain – 1989-2019” commemorating the 30 year partnership. The club crest is also elevated while the French tri-colour stripes adorn the sleeves. The hoops treatment on the socks is the sweet icing on what is a beautifully adorned cake.
