A spotlight on the boots that caught the eye last weekend.
The 2018/19 season is underway throughout most of Europe and there has been some tantalizing new boots on pitch last weekend. From rising fires to future stars, we take a look at the hottest kicks on feet.
David Luiz – Nike Premier 1.0
The Chelsea cult hero has been sporting the Nike Premier 1.0 in pre-season and has done so into the start of the new season. It’s very rare to see players wear this underrated boot as they have been usually donned by referees and coaching staff. We like that Luiz is shining a light on one of the best value boots in the market but we’re wondering why he’s wearing the older version instead of the current Nike Premier 2.0. Could he be on a lookout for a new boot sponsor?
Cristiano Ronaldo – Nike Mercurial Superfly Elite (Raised on Concrete Pack)
It’s going to take a while to get used to seeing CR7 in a Juventus jersey but what a debut it was for him and his teammates. Ronaldo has finally set aside his boots from his signature CR7 collection for the Raised on Concrete pack. Honestly, we like the grey and red of the current pack a wee bit better.
Kylian Mbappe – Mercurial Superfly Elite (Rising Fire pack)
What can this man not do? He’s won the league last season, won the World Cup and now comes off the bench to change the game for PSG in their league match against Guingamp – all at a tender age of 19. No wonder that he’s one of the exclusive players who has access to the limited edition Nike Rising Fire pack, meant for the precocious young talents in football.
Luis Suarez – Puma Future 2.1

New to the Puma family, el Pistolero was made his league debut in the popular Puma Future in the Uprising colourway. The boot did look good on him though what was more noticeable was that he has put on some pounds since the summer. Let’s hope he hits the gym harder as Barcelona is counting on him to bring more success to the pitch this season.
Theo Walcott – adidas X18.1

The English speedster scored a goal as Everton won Southampton 2-1. The former Saint dinked the ball over the keeper from close range to open the scoring for the Toffees wearing one of our current favourite boots – the adidas X18.1.
