20 years of Nike and FC Barcelona.
Alongside Inter Milan, FC Barcelona are also celebrating their 20 year anniversary with the big swoosh. To commemorate this milestone, Nike has modernised the popular 05/06 away jersey in volt that had the likes of Ronaldinho shimmying through defenses with ease. That was the year of the treble and the Catalan club are hoping to be equally electric in this year’s luminous away kit.
The home jersey needs no introduction. The iconic stripes and colours of the Catalan flag are a symbol of unity that has been carried on proudly in the home jersey. Nike has built on that story with nice touch by having to stripes on the jersey, each one representing the city’s 10 districts Les Corts, Sants-Montjuïc, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, La Barceloneta, Sant Martí, Ciutat Vella, Gràcia, Horta-Guinardó, Nou Barris and Sant Andreu.
Each of those districts is represented on the jersey by a stripe and, in a marked shift from last season, every one is of even width. The home jersey is available for purchase at Nike.com.
