Another AS Roma kit inspired by Jupiter, the Roman god of the sky and thunder.
While the home kit adorned the Jupiter influences along the sleeve and collar, Nike and Roma ensured that their inspiration was front and centre for their away kit.
In the design, the lightning bolt takes center stage — it runs like a sash, from the left shoulder to the right hip, jagging its way down an otherwise white shirt with vivid shades of crimson and orange.
“When you combine Roma’s famous colors with the depth of the city’s mythology then you have a really potent mix,” says Pete Hoppins, Nike Football Apparel Senior Design Director. “The lightning theme is a powerful concept for 2019-20, and I think both the home and away kits give fresh takes while staying true to the club’s identity.”
While we absolutely loved the subtle lightning touches on the home kit, we’re not sure if the more aggressive take on the lightning is floating our boat. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
