Best AG Pitches in Singapore

We shortlist our favourite artificial futsal pitches in sunny Singapore.

Despite being a small city, futsal pitches have been sprouting up all over the island with their beautifully laid artificial turf. From casual after-work games to weekend amateur leagues, these pitches have played host to all manner of occasions. We pick our best locations for your football fix.

Best Turf Quality – FutsalArena@Yishun

FutsalArena has been a popular spot for footballers in the North since opening in 2016. A relatively new facility, this also explains the consistent quality of the turf that has been laid out. You won’t find potholes or uneven patches here which makes passing a breeze. Speaking of breezes, the wide open spaces around the facility keeps your game cool even on a hot day.

FutsalArena carries 5 sheltered 5-a-side pitches with spacious resting areas, vending machines, clean toilets, car parks and is a 5 minute walk from Northpoint Shopping Centre and Yishun MRT Station. One of our personal favourites for a game of futsal.

Address: 32 Yishun Central 1, Singapore 768809
Opening hours: 9:00am to 1:00am (Daily including Public Holidays)

Best Ambience – The Rainforest Sports Hub

Singapore has been labelled as a garden city and there’s no better expression of that than pitches at The Rainforest. Situated just behind The Grandstand (formerly known as Turf City) in Bukit Timah, the Rainforest nestles you in the midst of tropical vegetation. It’s a beautiful place to play your football, especially at night when it’s cooling and when you’re surrounded by trees. Perfect for an escape from the stresses of city life.

Best AG pitches in Singapore - The Rainforest

It’s also a big facility with an 11-aside football pitch, three 8-aside, one 7-aside, two 6-aside and one 5-aside artificial pitches, a concreted multipurpose hard court and ample car parking spaces.

However, do note that it would be a challenge to get to the pitch without a car/bike. We would recommend to take a taxi or Grab if you don’t own your own wheels.

Address: 2 Turf Club Road, Singapore 287988
Opening hours: 7:00am to 3:00pm

Best Amenities – Kovan Sports Centre

If there ever was an all round good sports centre, it would be Kovan Sports Centre. 8 sheltered 5-a-side pitches in decent condition, nearby public parking, large and clean toilets with shower facilities. Not forgetting that it’s only a few minutes away from food centres and Kovan MRT station.

Keen to book a pitch here? You’re not alone. The pitches are often well booked by corporate events, soccer clinics for kids, casual players and amateur leagues so do book in advance to secure a slot. They even have a water soccer float which is usually popular with company events. This is one of the most popular pitches in Singapore for good reason.

Best Location for City Slickers – Stadio@Rooftop

Who’s got time to visit the suburbs when you’re hard at work in the CBD? Stadio Futsal has set up a pitch on the rooftop of Amara Hotel in Tanjong Pagar for those who have little time to waste after leaving the office. It is quite the experience to be playing up high and to be surrounded by other high rise buildings right smack in the business district.

That said, this unique experience will also cost you a hefty $140 per hour during peak periods, more than the standard $80-90 at other locations.

Address: 165 Tanjong Pagar Road, Amara Hotel Rooftop, Singapore 088539
Opening hours: 9:00am to 10:00pm (Daily)

Best Modern Sports Complex – The Arena

The flashiest and coolest facility has got to be The Arena which had their opening christened by footballing royalty – Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs. The Arena has one 11-a-side pitch, two 7-a-side pitches and three 5-a-side pitches on ground. But what sets it apart from the rest would be the bells and whistles that come with this pitch – a fitness area for muay thai classes, rock climbing, spin class, gym, aerial yoga and more.

Oh, there’s also a cafe in case you want to grab a bite with your buddies and remind them of the open goal that they missed just a while back. It’s all pretty wicked if you asked us.

Address: 48 Woodleigh Park (PUB Recreation Club), Singapore 357844
Opening hours: 9:00am to 11:00pm (Weekdays), 8:30am to 11:00pm (Weekends and Public Holidays)
