adidas brings back the Arsenal “bruised banana” kit from the 90s.
Fresh from liberating Gooners worldwide from the unpopular Puma kits, adidas has now dropped another big announcement in the form of the away kit. The yellow and blue combination has been a classic away day staple for the Gunners and the three stripes kicked it up a notch with the return of the “bruised banana” design that was donned by the likes of Ian Wright in the 90s.
The “bruised” elements are a little more subtle in the 2019 variation but we’re sure many old school fans would be delighted to cop this jersey.
This season’s away kit features a modern, navy crew neck collar with colour matched navy adidas stripes on the shoulders and logo. The navy detailing matches the navy used in the 1991-3 design graphic, a subtle nod to an old era brought into the future.
The Arsenal away kit will be available to purchase at adidas.com.sg and adidas stores at Suntec City, Marina Bay Sands and ION Orchard from 5:00pm, 23 July 2019.
