Seen on the feet of PSG, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid players at the ICC.
The friendly tournament in Singapore was a carnival of goals and fans were treated to fantastic matches and some of the coolest boots available today. We take a look at what’s hot this pre-season at the ICC.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Nike Mercurial Superflys R9
Aubameyang was a big fan of R9. Who knew? Well, it comes as no surprise as many of today’s elite forwards were inspired by the Fenômeno and the Gabonese was no exception. He has been spotted wearing these through pre-season training, ditching his usual Hypervenoms for the speed boot in the game against Atletico.
Gianluigi Buffon – Puma One 1
The legend that is Buffon made his debut in an otherwise forgettable game against Arsenal. The Parisians got smacked 5-1 but Buffon was there to make a few saves to ensure his team were not embarrassed. At least he looked cool in his Puma One 1s from the Uprising Pack.

Thomas Partey – adidas Nemeziz 18+
Partey was a ever present beast in the centre of midfield. Combining power, agility and grace, he ensured that Atletico Madrid was well shielded and kept the game ticking in his Nemeziz from the new Team Mode pack. One of the players of the ICC.
Mesut Ozil – adidas Predator 18.1
The new Arsenal no. 10 has been the face of the Predator silo and has always rocked the laceless 18+. We found it quite peculiar that he’s switched to the laced 18.1 seeing how he’s one of the three stripes’ marquee faces when it comes to their laceless line. Has something changed at adidas or does he just prefer to wear laces?
Tim Weah – Nike PhantomVSN
One of football’s hottest young prospects donned the summer’s hottest release. The speedy striker sported the Nike PhantomVSN as he showed flashes of his brilliance on and off the ball. Weah won PSG’s penalty against Arsenal and was a menace against the Atletico backline when he came on as a sub.
Reiss Nelson – adidas Glitch 2.0
Finally, the Glitch makes its way to Asia, if only for 90 minutes on the pitch. The Glitch is customizable boot with an inner skeleton and switchable outer skin for players to personalize their design from game to game. They’re currently only used and endorsed by promising young players and Paulo Dybala. Let’s hope adidas brings the Glitch over to these shores soon.
